Environmental preservation is at the forefront of nearly everyone’s mind these days and big business is surely no different. The difference between them is that some are “Thinking Green” to keep their customers happy while others are trying in earnest to take care of our home and leave it a better place for future generations. Don’t get me wrong, every business needs to take care of its bottom line in order to thrive but if an organization truly cares about the environment it will find ways to conduct its business in harmony with eco-conscious principals.

I am very proud of the fact that Verari Systems was built from the ground up to engineer extremely efficient and environmentally unobtrusive enterprise computing solutions. Our FOREST container can house up to 12 Petabytes of storage capacity or 1,400 servers without using up a single square foot of permanent real-estate.

Energy usage is one of the prime concerns facing most IT driven organizations, not only because of our dwindling natural resources but because power costs have been skyrocketing. Let me take a minute here to state the extremely obvious but consistently overlooked fact that the best way to save energy is to cut energy usage. Our BladeRack 2 Platform lowers overall node power needs by utilizing a combination of ultra-efficient power supplies and our patented Vertical Cooling Technology™.

As part of The Green Grid and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, we constantly strive to find ways to not only better our environmental policy but to help foster techniques that our partners and even competitors can utilize to lessen the burden we all place on the environment. No corporation is above environmental responsibility – ethics and the consumer base demand it. The key to finding truly green solutions is to work with corporations that are founded green and practice what they preach, not just the ones who sell green to keep from going red.
